Abstract

The paper seeks to examine the growth and impact of camel milk selling in Yobe State as over the years, the commercialization of camel milk serves a number of economic as well as social benefits which aimed in satisfying the needs of both pastoral and urban centres/communities within Yobe State and even beyond. The sales of the pastoral dairy product boosted the morale of commercial activities in the study area as it opened the doors of profit making to commodity traders especially to sugar and coffee traders. The camel industry or milk also aided in the promotion of better food and economic security in the region within which the herds are found and as such, Yobe State is not an exception. The study employs both primary source such as oral source which included. Oral Interview, Focus Group Discussion, kii, field work and secondary sources in obtaining data for the research exercise.
Key words: Milk, Selling, Commercialization, Camel, Pastoralists.
